If you’re like me you still love physical media. I have a large collection of DVDs, blu-rays, and 4K blu-rays. Heck, I even collect vinyl records. So if you’re a collector here are some new and upcoming movies you must add to your collection.
The Shawshank Redemption
Considered by many as one of the greatest films ever made, the film gets a stunning 4K upgrade. At the time of writing it’s on sale for $15. While the special features are what you get on the blu ray, if you need the upgrade from DVD there is no better time to do it.
Special features include:
- Director Commentary
- Two Documentaries
Dune
I am definitely picking this one up. Denis Villeneuve’s stunning film has never looked better (at home) than on this release. With gorgeous HDR and Dune’s color palette, it’s a match made in heaven. This one is also on sale for only $15, I know I’ll be adding it to my collection for that price.

The Batman
Matt Reeves’ take on the Dark Knight is maybe the best yet. More of a gritty detective story than a superhero film and it’s all the better for it. Check out our 4.5/5 review of the film. You can watch in 4K starting 5/24. The physical release is filled to the brim with special features including a deleted scene of that character.
